Change begins with the action of one.
Through Our Volunteers

Volunteers“Commitment to caring and giving connects and enriches people of resource and people of need.”

KidCare International is a volunteer-driven, relationship-based organization. We believe the loving actions of our compassionate volunteers generate mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual wholeness.

Among the many services they perform, volunteers are a prevailing force in uncovering new resources and networking with national and international clubs, schools, and other organizations, and raising the awareness and funds needed for the children we serve. Because of the continued efforts of hundreds of volunteers, KidCare International has received grants from businesses, clubs, foundations, and other organizations. We have also received awards from the Congress of the United States, Soroptimist International Club, Rotary Club, California State Senate Economic and Social Development Award, California Legislature Assembly, County of San Bernardino Board of Supervisors, and the County of Los Angeles commendation from Michael Antonovich.

VolunteersVolunteers also gather medical equipment and supplies from hospitals, assist in packing ocean-freight containers, create and donate hundreds of quilts for babies, bake cookies, feed homeless people weekly, distribute food at the Food Bank, donate hundreds of hours of office work each year, write grants, organize and implement the annual KidPak give-away and Christmas Party, serve on the Thanksgiving Dinner give-away, design and host the website, design and implement the Strategic Plan, serve on Action Teams, serve annual fundraising committee, at the Christmas Fundraising Boutique, as members of the Board of Directors, and as tutors in various educational programs.

Students from the Claremont Colleges serve as tutors for the Study Buddies Program, and other college and university students have served as volunteers in various other capacities. Volunteers including health-care specialists, construction workers, and educators, often use vacation time to facilitate international and domestic projects. Sharing our core beliefs that mentoring offers, instills, and inspires hope in the children we serve, individuals volunteer in various ways to serve as a role model to children in need. We deeply appreciate the countless hours donated by dedicated individuals.
